Estelle Lavoie,
a certified instructor,
started to teach African dance at the Park Avenue YMCA
following her return from Africa in 2000. In 2001, she
completed her training as a fitness instructor (FIT) with
the YMCA of Montreal, working under Master trainer, Nathalie
Lacombe.
She also studied other disciplines and has taught
courses in dance, aerobox, step, as well as mat and ball
classes. While teaching at the Park Y, September 2002 to
April 2004, she also held the post of Coordinator of the
Physical Fitness Department. In September 2003, under the
tutelage of Stéphane André, Estelle studied to become a
Pilates instructor.
In December 2004, she completed her
certification in Mat, Reformer, Chair, Cadillac, and Barrel.
Since becoming certified, Estelle has taught in a number of
locations including the YMCA and Spa Zazen but is now
concentrating more fully on her work at Espace Pilates Gym.
